Sara Amin brings more than a decade of banking experience to Al Waha Fund of Funds, following a successful career at KPMG Fakhro, Maalem Holdings and the Quality Assurance Authority.
Since joining Al Waha’s parent organisation Bahrain Development Bank in 2010, Sara has made a strong impact in departments ranging from the Investment Division to Corporate Credit and Development Services. One of her most significant accomplishments was establishing BDB’s Rowad Program, a holistic support scheme designed to empower startups, and the SeedFuel-Rowad start-up funding initiative, where she still plays an active role in analysis and investment reviews.
At Al Waha, while her primary responsibility is overseeing operations and due diligence reviews, Sara remains heavily involved in coaching and supporting entrepreneurs throughout the Kingdom and the wider region. Sara is particularly passionate about increasing funding opportunities for entrepreneurs and growing MENA’s startup community, with a belief that the Al Waha priority areas of FinTech will be the strongest disrupting forces in years to come.
Sara holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from University College of Bahrain and is a certified business coach from the UK’s Chartered Management Institute.
